SBC CAS Intramurals 2008 Table Tennis Singles & Doubles Champion http://loudandraw.com/archives/194 http://loudandraw.com/archives/194#comments Sat, 20 Dec 2008 02:43:16 +0000 http://loudandraw.com/?p=194 Share

Yeah!! I won and after a long, long time, maybe four long years of not playing this sport, I was able to play and go home a champion. Ha-ha! It was December 17 2008, the third day of our intramural and my first day to show my presence again after five days and I was already scheduled to play table tennis supposedly when the clock goes 9:00 am. the scheduled time was not official and it is prior to changes so the committee waited for the first batch of players to finish the second year’s championship then resume the third year’s game on 2:30 PM. I had the first game and won it easily then onto the next game, and the next, and the finals in which I battled “the” what we know as the two-time champion of this game for the last two years. He was lucky though, this is the only time I played after I transferred college from Mapua.

Obviously, as the title of this post says, I won and managed to snatch the gold from the defending champion of the table tennis intramural event. Anyway, the downside of this success was my body got really soar the next day, I had a hard time moving and all my muscles which are involved in twisting and turning turned against me and punished me for being lazy for the past few years, Maybe because I forgot to stretch? That was what Jha said to me after I told her my story. Ha-ha

Here is the catch, the night before my game, I was really excited to play and the morning of my game my stomach almost turned green with excitement but after a little warming up, I am back to my real self, I’m back with my reflexes and then on to a great physical and mental condition! I thought my stomach won’t stop hurting, a sign of nervousness or a sign of excitement perhaps? Well anyway, the most important thing is I won and I was happy about that, imagine the long years of my absence on this sport and still played like a real champ from the past. I must be really, really thankful that I still have it in my system.  So there, I hope that this news brighten up your day as it does to mine.

Trivia: Sam Ekwe played table tennis against me, just a game though and he was not in the official list. I never thought that he knows how to play this one. As a result, I won two games and as for him, none. It was a good game and we enjoyed it.

San Beda Intrams 2008 http://loudandraw.com/archives/192 http://loudandraw.com/archives/192#comments Tue, 16 Dec 2008 22:10:16 +0000 http://loudandraw.com/?p=192 Share

Hi! this morning, I will be representing my block which is BMC to play on Singles Division of Table Tennis. Yes it is our intramural and I am so excited to play. It has been 4 years since I played for the gold like when I was in High school and during my last match in Mapua Institute of Technology Makati. I just hope that I can pull this one out and if I got lucky, I can snatch the gold away from the depending champion. So much for the wishful thinking, just wish me luck guys alright? Ping pong, Whif Whaf, whatever you may call it, it is still named table tennis universally.

The Dream Match: Pacquiao Versus Dela Hoya… Congratulations Pacquiao! http://loudandraw.com/archives/185 http://loudandraw.com/archives/185#comments Sun, 07 Dec 2008 08:34:33 +0000 http://loudandraw.com/?p=185 Share

The results are done! The much awaited Dream Match was over by the 9th round. Yeah 9th round because De la Hoya refused to come out of his corner after the eight round and Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao was declared the victor by TKO. The story behind them is confusing with all those critics saying this and that and mixing politics and money on order to spice up the victory of Pacquiao. The catch is be contented on the fight. Pacquiao won the night so deal with it. This is a sport anything may happen even if the contenders trained hard for a long time, there will always be a one true champion.

Again, this post will not be about the critics on that fight. This is about congratulating the boxers who made everyone’s day much brighter and as for Manny Pacquiao who made all the Filipinos rejoiced with glory. This indeed is the fight that Manny will never forget for the rest of his life so as Oscar. Job well done! a nice display of sportsmanship. As for my review on the actual fight, it will come on my next post.

San Beda Red Lions: NCAA 3Peat Champion @ 84 http://loudandraw.com/archives/139 http://loudandraw.com/archives/139#respond Sun, 05 Oct 2008 17:35:05 +0000 http://loudandraw.com/?p=139 Share

Its been a very tough 84th season for my alma matter, San Beda College. Though its is much harder for the players this time, they still managed to overcome the difficulties and still proved to be the best in Men’s College Basketball last September 29 2008 of the 84th season. It reminded me of our last lesson about debt consolidation, no matter how much you borrow, i mean the strength and the guidance, with the help of everyone around you, everything will be jest fine. If I would compare the 82nd season championship from the 84th, I would gladly say that this season is the next big thing to happen in San Beda. Imagine the blood lust those lions are into while on the game, they would defend their Turk, their pride and would bet their best just to win the game against Jose RIzal University who finally came into the finals after a long wait.

I wonder how those Hopias, which they love to call themselves felt after the lost. I know it is hard for them, so close but the Red Lions took it away from them before they come into contact. It must be really really depressing. Well that was this game is all about, give your best and decide to win, good game though. One thing that really matter is that SBC won Three straight seasons and still defended it successfully. I cannot imagine the long months of training for this. I envy my colleagues who went into the victory party that same night, but good thing for me I managed to evade another heartbreaking credit card debt which I try to avoid as much as possible.

The sad part is that two best players of the team will graduate this coming March, can the Lions still roar without them? Sam Ekwe will surely be missed by the supporters and the whole Bedan Community. But as far as the team would go, they now have another great talent who will play in the next season and that will remain a surprise until that day, of course my college know all about it. Well good luck to them and for the meantime I will deal with my debt management program and enhance my knowledge to deal with my own. Animo San Beda!
