Earth is a great place to live, that is because we don’t have choice. By having no choice at all made it harder for those people with disability to live the life they want unlike those of us who are born to be normal. Some lose hope living in this world but not everyone just give in easily. Allsup the leading social security service provider for people with disability helps our brothers to live normally and happily. This social security disability helped so many people change their lives and now expanding to help more and more people globally. Hope is something that all of us can get but without some help from others our hopes will only be forever be wandering. Thanks to those who are giving the disabled a better chance to appreciate life.

I can’t wait to graduate from college, and soon, I will be on my own way looking for a job or perhaps – a career. I need to find one fast but that doesn’t mean I will accept anyone who offers first. My brother told me that it is important to have some benefits from companies that I will be working for and one of his concerns is about health benefits. It is true with what others say so I better find one right?

Anyway, one day when me and my friends went in a convention on disability awareness, we came across people with disabilities. One thing I noticed is that – some are smiling though the convention has not yet started. I asked one of them why? he grinned at me as if he is so proud of what he is about to say. He told me that he is happy because he has been receiving a decent amount of blessings since the day he started with social security disability. Now that was promising, I did not expect that he will say that to a stranger and in addition to that he told me that Allsup has now helped more than 130,000 people. So what I did was smiled back at him and left with satisfaction from his answer which kept me preoccupied for the rest of the convention. After that I realized that our health is really a big factor for our own personal accomplishments.

Brgy. La Paz, Makati: Theology Emersion/ Exposure in Social Justice

During our emersion in Barangay La Paz, as a part of our Theology 05, I learned a lot not just from the lectures that was given to us but the best lesson learned was through exposure and having to participate first handed activities. During our stay in the guidance of the Kasanib Foundation, my views and knowledge about things related to social injustices grew stronger and finally understood the reason why people are taking responsibility to help the ones in need.
Opening our eyes to the problems in our society leads to a path of hope. I admire all the organizations that are taking responsibilities of the misfortunes of our fellow people and create a light for the people who are drowned in nothingness. Kasanib foundation for example is offering a service that includes a attorney consultation which is really helpful for the ones who does not understand the ways in life. The benefits they can get involve not be misleading and mistreating when dealing with some problems. For me this is an act of giving justice to the ones who needs it and it serves as a guide for the people who are prone to being tricked by the powerful.
With this exposure, my awareness took a leap to a greater maturity. There are cases in our study that needs more understanding than being imagined. Having to deal with problems in their organization myself helped me be a more responsibly reliable individual. From the very first day of our exposure, we’ve gone through a lot of observations and participation in their work and speaking of work, i might as well refer someone who need it and apply at North Carolina marketing jobs. I firmly believe that our presence in that field made a difference that made their efforts not go to waste. These responsible individuals of Kasanib Foundation are so eager to help the needy that we can never let them down and of course, ourselves as well. Being able to communicate with  the people who experienced injustices over and over made me realized that I am so lucky not to live like them and so I felt guilty that with my gifts. This is not an act of bragging, but rather an act of taking responsibility whenever God has given me something, I should share it to even one person so that they may feel that they are not abandoned which clearly portray God’s wish for us with something and help the one’s with nothing.
We are Christians and we should take action for the changes to come to an effect. God’s plan is to see to us that we are all even before His eyes. Yes it is true that we are different people who have different lives, needs, wants and almost basically different from one another in our human eyes. But with God’s presence we are all equal so we have equal responsibilities towards others.
I am grateful for this chance to help and experience other’s pleading and will never forget the reason why we came into action. Helping others is not a one way relationship. Whenever we help others, those people whom we have helped before taught us lessons too. Even though they seem to have nothing to give us, the truth is that they gave us a lot. Everything we give to others is repaid more than what we have given them.  Being able to help the child abuse victims, women abuse, injustice among the innocent, reaching out to the poor, and giving services for the benefit of the good is a fulfillment. We help not because we are obliged to do so, but because we are responsible people of God whose task is to share His kindness amongst one another. I am thankful for all the people behind this study and everything that happened to us. For me this is one experience I would treasure for the rest of my earthly life.
